Kasab likely to be shifted to Pune jail

Mumbai, Oct 5: Mumbai police send a proposal to Maharashtra government with the request to move Ajmal Kasab from Mumbai's jail to Pune's Yerwada jail.

According the Mumbai police sources, "A proposal in this regard (shifting of Kasab) has been under consideration and it has been sent to the state government."

Few days back, the deadly attack on Kasab in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail shook the authority and they have taken all possible steps to give security to Kasab and this jail shifting might be another step to give him extra protection.

Police sources on Oct 5 informed that they are waiting for the Bombay high court confirmation on Kasab's conviction after which he is likely to be shifted to Pune's jail.

Kasab was the only terrorist caught alive during the 26/11 attacks, in which 166 people were killed.
