Govt launches approach paper for 12th Five Yr Plan

New Delhi, Oct 5: For the first time in the Indian history, the Planning Commission has sought public feedback on the 'Approach Paper to 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17).

Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, unveiled a website on Monday, Oct 4, through which one can send comments and feedback on 10 issues related to the proposed 12th Plan, that begins in Apr 2012.

The comments by the general public will be used by the Plan panel, to prepare more effective approach paper for the next 12th five Year Plan, which is likely to be ready by Mar 2011.

Once the approach paper is ready, it would be approved by the Union Cabinet and the National Development Council which includes all Chief Ministers of states.
