Supreme Court
New Delhi, Oct 5: To create transparency in the judicial work, the Union cabinet will meet on Tuesday, Oct 5 to discuss the judicial accountability bill.

Sources said the crucial bill did not come in Parliament during the monsoon session due to considerable opposition to it.

The Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, 2010 aims at bringing transparency into the working of the judiciary. It proposes that a judge be punished in case of proven corruption.

The concerned bill also allows citizens to file complaints against judges for any misconduct to the the Supreme Court and the state high courts.
