Washington, Oct 4 (ANI): Michaele and Tareq Salahi are still reaping benefits of their infamous gate crash last year at the Whitehouse dinner party - the couple has auctioned the sari Michaele wore for a whopping 7,000 dollars.

James Packard-Gomez, CEO of the salon Erwin Gomez Salon, where Mrs Salahi got her hair and make-up done, spent 7,000 dollars on the custom Indian sari worn by 'The Real Housewives of D.C.' star at an auction held Saturday morning at the Potomack Auction Company in Alexandria, Va.

But salon owner Erwin Gomez made it clear that he had nothing to do with the buying of the sari.

"I'm in shock. [James] is using my name to get publicity out of this. I'm all about giving to a good cause, but the purchase didn't have anything to do with me, it's the last thing I want," The Politico quoted Gomez as saying.

Packard-Gomez said it was just 'another venture,' something he thought worthwhile after seeing how much the salon was featured in last week's episode of 'Housewives.'

"I was impressed with the amount of time Erwin spent on the dress in the episode, he helped dress her. It really does have a place in our salon history," he said.

The Salahis, meanwhile, said they were glad to raise money for multiple sclerosis. (ANI)
