Nifty ends with marginal gain

Mumbai, Oct 4: Inspite of starting a 33-month high in the early trade on Oct 4, NSE Nifty could not able to hold the same level as the day continued. NSE Nifty ended with marginal gains.

The Sensex closed at 20475, up 31 points and the Nifty was at 6159, up 16 points.

Suzlon Energy, Sesa Goa, Ranbaxy Labs, and Reliance Comm were among the top gainers with 7.17 percent, 5.30 percent, 5.16 percent, 2.92 percent up respectively.

Hero Honda, ITC, Sterlite Ind and Larsen were among the top losers with 2.31 percent, 1.90 percent, 1.60 percent, 1.48 percent down respectively.

Market continues in green; SBI dip

At 3:11 hrs, the Sensex was trading at 20539.35, up 94.31 points and the Nifty was at 6174.80, up 31.40 points.

Buying continued in ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, BHEL, Tata Motors, HDFC, Wipro, Reliance Communications, M&M, DLF, ACC, Hindalco along with healthcare companies' shares.

VIP Industries, Orchid Chemical, Koutons Retail, Bhushan Steel, IFCI, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and HDFC were the most active shares.

Vas Infra, Welspun Invest, Raghuvir Synth, Sunshield Chemical, Yashraj Contain and Cambridge Tech were the top gainers.

Where as Hero Honda, ITC, Bharti Airtel,Larsen, were the top losers.

Sensex hits 33-month high; SBI up

With the help strong FII inflows and firm Asian market, Sensex crossed its 33-month highest mark 20,000 and was trading at 20594.46 on Monday, Oct 4.

At 12:15 hrs, the Sensex was trading at 20594.46, up 149.42 points and the Nifty was at 6187.90, up 44.50 points.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, DLF, Hero Honda, Sterlite Industries, L&T, HUL along with power companies' shares were witnessing selling pressure.

However, buying continued in Reliance Industries, ONGC, ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC, BHEL, ITC

Top gainers were Suzlon Energy up 4.78 percent, ICICI Bank up 2.75 percent, M&M up 2.72 percent, Sesa Goa up 2.48 percent, Jaiprakash Associates up 2.26 percent, Wipro up 2.10 percent and Tata Motors up 1.80 percent.

Top losers were BPCL down 1.03 percent, Hero Honda down 0.74 percent, Cairn India down 0.59 percent.

Nifty opens on positive note; SBI up

The benchmark Nifty started the day on a strong note following good global cues.

At 9:30 hrs,the Sensex was trading at 20700.87, up 255.83 points and the Nifty was at 6219.85, up 76.45 points.

Jaiprakash Associates, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Suzlon, ACC, Tata Steel, SAIL, Reliance Communications, M&M, GAIL, ICICI Bank, Jindal Steel, BHEL, Reliance Industries, ONGC, Infosys, Bharti and SBI were witnessing buying interest.

However, Sterlite Industries and Hero Honda were marginally down.
