Oz man proposes to girlfriend through a website ad

Melbourne, Oct 1: An Australian man sent a marriage proposal to his property manager girlfriend through an ad on a real estate website.

Frankston woman Hayley Smith was confused, shocked and finally excited when she found an advertisement on website from boyfriend Clinton Hosking asking her to marry him.

Mr Hosking, who lives in Darwin, had posted the ad on the website knowing his girlfriend, who is a rental property manager, would be trawling the site at work.

"She is continually checking out the competition online," said Hosking.

"I thought what is one thing Hayley really loves and one thing stuck out, she loves real estate so I thought why not stick an advertisement on website for her to find. I really wanted this to be a genuine surprise," he added.

Ms Smith told that she certainly was surprised.

"I looked at it, then started crying," she said.
