Markets close on positve note; FIIs support

FIIs were net buyers to the tune of more than Rs 27,500 crore since Sep 6, 2010. On the flip side, Hero Honda, Bharti and Reliance Communications were the only losers.
The upsurge in markets has created vigour among investors abroad. The Sensex closed at 20445.04, up 375.92 points and the Nifty was at 6143.40, up 113.45 points.

Trading continues in green; Nifty 100 pts up
At 2: 47 hrs the Sensex was trading at 20415.83, up 346.71 points and the Nifty was at 6135.40, up 105.45 points.
SAIL was trading at Rs 221.05, up 7.78 percent; Bajaj Bajaj Auto was at Rs 1,547, up 5.25 percent; Sesa Goa was at Rs 341.75, up 4.13 percent; Sterlite Industries was at Rs 173.25, up 3.80 percent.
Where as, Kotak Mahindra Bank was at Rs 494, up 3.72 percent; Tata Motors was at Rs 1,139.30, up 3.83 percent; Hindalco was at Rs 203.40, up 3.38 percent; DLF was at Rs 389.05, up 3.11 percent and Jindal Steel was at Rs 729.10, up 3.07 percent.
Orchid Chemical, IFCI, Tata Motors, Unitech, Tata Steel, Unitech and SBI were the most active shares on exchanges.

Trading continues on green; SAIL up
At 12:15 hrs BSE Sensex was trading at 20321.96, up 252.84 points and the NSE Nifty was at 6103.05, up 73.10 points.
SAIL was the top gainer on Nifty; rallied 6 percent. Where as other metal companies like Jindal Steel, Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries, Hindalco and Sesa Goa were up 1-2.3 percent.
Oil & gas space, Reliance Industries, Cairn and GAIL gained 1 percent each; BPCL was up 0.75 percent.
Where as Tata Motors surged 3.5 percent; Bajaj Auto, M&M and Maruti gained 3 percent each, and Hero Honda fell 1 percent.

Nifty opens on positive note
At 9:30 am, the Sensex was trading at 20195.50, up 126.38 points and the Nifty was at 6063.80, up 33.85 points.
M&M, Maruti, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Industries, SAIL, Tata Steel, Ranbaxy Labs, Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, PNB and IDFC were witnessing buying interest.
However, ABB, Hero Honda, Infosys, TCS and SBI were on sellers' radar.
TVS Motor, Ashok Leyland and Hindustan Motor gained 2-4 percent. Shree Renuka was up 1.6 percent. Delta Corp, Sesa Goa and Ispat moved up 1.2 percent each. However, Mahindra Satyam was down 1 percent.
