Ayodhya: Mulayam frowns, says Muslims "cheated"

Mulayam Singh Yadav
Lucknow, Oct 1: Even though the Allahabad High Court's verdict in the Ayodhya title suit has satisfied the BJP and RSS, the verdict seems to have left a frown on the Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh's face.

Speaking for the Muslims of the country, the SP supremo on Friday, Oct 1 said that the community was feeling "cheated" and that they were in a "state of despair".

Mulayam Singh Yadav opined that the faith was given "priority" over legal procedures while delivering the verdict.

"I am disappointed as the decision in a judicial verdict was delivered by keeping faith above law and evidences," Mulayam stated at a press meet here.

"This is not a good sign for the country, the Constitution and even for the judiciary," the SP supremo added while reading out from a written statement.
