Doda District police organises 'March for Peace' rally
Doda, Sep 30 (ANI): Over 1400 students and children took part in a 'March for Peace' rally organised by Doda District police officials here on Wednesday.
The race was organised under the direction of Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldeep Khoda.
Three first comers were awarded cash and fifty others were handed out certificates of participation.
Prabhat Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Doda District expressed happiness at seeing the youths coming out in large numbers to support the cause for peace and normalcy.
"This event will be remembered and we can take this forward. This shows that the public is with us," Singh said.
Mudassir, a participant, said such events would strengthen relations between the police and the locals.
"Considering the prevailing situation in the valley it was very difficult to organise such a race. We would like to thank the police for supporting us and we hope that we can maintain cordial relations with them," Mudassir said. (ANI)
