CWG: Army rebuilds collapsed stadium bridge

New Delhi, Sep 30: Eight days after the collapse of the foot overbridge outside CWG main venue Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, was made ready by the Army on Wednesday, Sep 29.

The Delhi Government sought the help of the Army engineers to rebuild the collapse bridge, and the task was completed in a record of four days.

"The Army officials told us that the construction of the bridge has been completed. They have completed the work much before the deadline," said a senior Delhi Government official.

95-metre long hanging over-bridge, was collapsed on Tuesday, Sep 21, injuring 27 people and raising serious questions over quality and standards of construction of Games infrastructure.
