Lucknow, Sep 30: Just few hours before the sensational Ayodhya verdict, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati accused Centre government by saying that Prime Minister has ignored UP's demand for adequate Central forces.

Mayawati told that she wrote to the PM twice for 642 companies of Central forces but got only 52. She also added taht the security men deployed in various part of the state was the strength of the UP police, not any additional force by Centre.

Mayawati accused that during the 2007 assembly election Centre allocated 700 companies of paramilitary forces, but to tackle the tensions over Ayodhya verdict Centre allowed only 52 companies.

"This time also we needed adequate number of forces to deal with the situation. And if something happens for lack of force, Centre will be responsible", said Mayawati.

"To tackle possible communal tension, the government demanded 458 companies of central forces on Aug 6, besides another 143 companies were demanded for the security of disputed site at Ayodhya on Sept 1," she added.
