Earthquake jolts New Zealand, no casualty
The quake was centred 90 km north of the volcanic White Island, which sits off the Bay of Plenty province on the island"s east coast.
Reports said the quake was felt in the capital, Wellington, but there were no immediate reports of casuaties or damage.
New Zealand had earlier experienced a magnitude of 7.1 that extensively damaged the city Christchurch.
