'Parachute buggies', Brit Army's latest surprise weapon against Taliban in Afghanistan

London, Sep 28(ANI): The British Army's special forces regiment, the Special Air Service (SAS), has plans to launch surprise attacks on militants in Afghanistan by parachuting behind enemy lines on buggies.

The force would use 'Rhino Air', which must be launched from at least 8,000ft and can float 25 miles before coming to earth at about 10mph.

A source said that two men would drive Rhino Air out of a transport plane, and then steer it 'behind enemy lines'.

"One of the issues at the moment is that elite troops have to operate on foot after landing behind enemy lines. The Rhino would change that," The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

"The hope is it could make a massive difference on the ground. It would give our elite troops a huge element of surprise," the source added.

Special Forces have reportedly spent months testing the vehicle in "dummy runs" in Britain to see if it could be used in Afghanistan. (ANI)
