Allahabad HC to deliver Ayodhya verdict on Sep 30

New Delhi, Sep 28: With the Supreme Court clearing the way for the Ayodhya verdict, the Allahabad High Court has decided to deliver the crucial judgement on Ram Temple-Babri Masjid title suit on Thursday, Sep 30.

Three-judge special bench of Supreme Court, comprising of Chief Justice of India SH Kapadia, Justices Aftab Alam and KS Radhakrishnan, on Tuesday, Sep 28 unanimously rejected the deferment petition filed by retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi and lifted the stay on the HC verdict.

On receiving the apex court's clearance, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad Court is set to deliver its verdict at 3:30 pm on Sep 30.

The High Court was expected to deliver the verdict on or before Friday, Oct 1 as Justice Dharam Veer Sharma, one of the judges on the Lucknow bench, retires on the day.

The HC was earlier scheduled to deliver the verdict on Sep 24. However, on the petition filed by Tripathi seeking deferment till the end of Commonwealth Games and resolution of the dispute by the parties involved, the Supreme Court on Sep 23 stayed the HC verdict by a week.

The SC had also decided to hear the deferment petition on Sep 28 and sent out notices to all parties involved in the title suit.
