Pratibha murder case: Verdict on Oct 6

Bangalore, Sep 27: The fast track court will deliver the verdict in the Pratibha Murthy murder case on Oct 6.

Pratibha Murthy, a BPO employee in Bangalore was raped and killed while on her way for night-shift duty in Dec 2005. The prime accused in the case is Shivu alias Shivakumar, the cab driver who picked Pratibha up from home.

In July 2006, the case was referred to a fast-track court.

There are no eye-witnesses in the case and the court has had to rely on circumstantial evidence and mobile phone records.

The deceased's mother Gowramma has been fighting a lone battle since her daughter's murder and has attended every court hearing, anxiously waiting for justice.
