Mum: More flight delays awaited over construction
Mumbai, Sep 24: Air traveler would face more problems in Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport due to flight delays as authorities have shut down the ILS on its main runway.
CNN-IBN reported on Sep 24 that delays with the vital Instrument Landing System (ILS) on the main runway disabled for the next six months due to construction work at the airport.
However, airport official informed, "In case of inclement weather that results in visibility falling below 5000 metres, all operations in the construction area will be suspended, and ILS Rwy 27 shall be made available within 30 minutes."
Instrument Landing System (ILS) is a vital system that provides electronic guidance to landing aircraft.
