Dantewada: Passenger train derails; no casualties

Raipur, Sep 23: The Kirandul-Vishakhapatnam passenger train got derailed on Thursday, Sep 23, at Chhattisgarh's Naxal-affected Dantewada district.

According to the police officials, one bogie and engine of the train got derailed at around 0600 hours, 45 minutes after it left Kirandul railway station and was approaching Bhansi railway station.

However, no casualties have been reported yet and repair work is on.

After receiving the information about the derailment additional police force, relief train and railway officials rushed to the spot immediately.

Police officials said that slip, banner among others related to Naxals have not been recovered from the spot but are suspecting the involvement of the extremists in the incident.

Further investigations are on, police added.
