Cong welcomes SC stay on Ayodhya verdict

New Delhi, Sep 23: The Congress party welcomed the Supreme Court order to stay the Allahabad High Court verdict on the 60-year-old Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.

The Congress party has throughout believed that the Babri problem can be solved either through talks or if it is not possible then the decision of the court should be acceptable to all.

AICC General Secretary and media department chief Janardhan Dwivedi said, “from both points of view, this is what appears to be the sentiment of the Supreme Court order. Hence everybody should welcome it."

The Supreme Court stayed for a week the verdict and will hear the plea for deferment of the judgement on Tuesday, Sep 28.
