BJP tightlipped on Ayodhya verdict deferment

Avoiding commenting on the apex court's order, which came on Sep 23 just a day ahead of the HC judgment, BJP maintained that it will make a statement only after the verdict has been delivered.
"We will wait for the High Court verdict to come and then react to it," BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said.
Earlier in Aug 2010, veteran BJP leader, LK Advani had asked party MPs not to make statements which are against national interest and had advised the partymen to exercise caution when the verdict was delivered.
In response to a petition filed by retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi seeking deferment of the verdict as the government was not in a state to handle law and order amid the pressures of Commonwealth Games, the SC stayed the verdict for a week.
The apex court will be hearing the deferment plea on Tuesday, Sep 28.
