Babri row: Govt bans bulk SMS, MMS till Sep 25

New Delhi, Sep 23: Central government on Sep 22 acquired a new step to avoid any kind of violence regarding Babri masjid verdict by banning all bulk SMS and MMS in the country for three days.

"Ministry of Communications & Information Technology has issued orders in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs to all Mobile Telecom Services Providers in the country for banning all bulk SMS and MMS in all service areas with immediate effect for next 72 hours," informed Telecom Department.

The 72 hours ban on bulk text and multimedia messages (SMS and MMS) has alredy started from Sep 22 night.

Ram Janmabhumi-Babri verdict has been scheduled to be pronounced by the Allahabad High Court on Friday, Sep 24.

High Security has been already deployed through out Uttar Pradesh and spacial securities has been arranged in sensitive areas in the country.

Home Minister, P Chidambaram also urged the people including media to maintain peace and not to make any provocative remark or not to spread any rumours regarding Babri verdict.
