Arms and ammunitions recovered from a Maoist hideout in Jharkhand

Palamu, Sep 23 (ANI): Jharkhand Police have recovered weapons including rifles, detonators and literature in Palamu District.

In a joint operation launched by the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force, the security forces recovered the cache from a hideout in Ratnag village near Jaigra under the jurisdiction of Pandu Police Station.

Briefing the media, Lakshman Prasad Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police said the Maoists opened fire at the police force, which forced the security personnel to retaliate.

Maoists however managed to escape to the nearby forest area leaving behind their cache of arms and ammunitions.

One Indian rifle, 30 detonators, wires, bags, ten sets of Maoists uniform and literature material were also recovered from the Maoists hideout.

An investigation is in process on the basis of the recovered items. (ANI)
