CWG: False ceiling at Nehru stadium collapses

The false ceiling of the weightlifting arena at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium collapsed on Wednesday, Sep 22. No injuries have been reported so far.
This only adds to the mounting embarrassments of the Delhi Games. Even as the international delegates slammed the Organising Committee for the shoddy work at the Games Village, the under construction bridge at the stadium collapsed on Sep 22 afternoon raising further concerns over infrastructure.
As many as 23 people were injured in the collapse of the bridge over the stadium parking lot that was meant for pedestrians to move from one end of the stadium to other without disrupting vehicular movement.
PNR Infra was handling the construction of the overbridge. Public Works Department of Delhi government has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
