Flood situation in Delhi, alert sounded
New Delhi, Sep.21 (ANI): Chairman of the Standing Committee Yogender Chandolia on Tuesday said that all concerned departments, particularly health and sanitation, have been directed to remain on alert, even though adequate precautions have been taken to the situation arising out of release of 7.7 lacs cusec water in Yamuna from Hathni Kund Barrage in Haryana.
He said that the areas of Usmanpur, Model Town, Garhi Mandu, Kashmere Gate, ISBT, Yamuna Pusta, parts of Mayur Vihar, Okhla and Jamia Nagar may be affected. Mr. Chandolia said that MCD has made elaborate arrangements to pump out water from low-lying areas.
The Health Department has been directed to depute Mobile Dispensaries with doctors and adequate stock of medicines. The Sanitation Department has been directed to keep clean likely areas to be affected. (ANI)
