Delhi CWG e-mail threat: Two detained in Mumbai
The two detained persons are being questioned in connection with the e-mail sent after the Jama Masjid firing on Sunday, Sep 19, police said.
On tracing the origin of the e-mail to Mumbai, Maharashtra ATS and crime branch officers rushed to the address.
They did not find anyone by that name living there, said a senior police official on Tuesday, Sep 21, adding that two people have been picked up for questioning wihtout revealing any further details.
The e-mail, which was sent to BBC using a mobile phone, said “in the name of Allah, attack is a tribute to Atif Amin and Mohammad Sajid."
Believed to have been sent by the Indian Mujahideen, the mail, however, did not directly refer to the incident of firing, in which two Taiwanese nationals were killed.
