No plans of making phones, says Facebook
On Sunday, Sep 19, some of the media reported that Facebook is planning to make it's own phone. Later Facebook's spokesman Jaime Schopflin rejected the report by saying that company is not building a phone. But he added that Facebook is in deeper integrations with some mobile phone manufacturers.
"Our view is that almost all experiences would be better if they were social, so integrating deeply into existing platforms and operating systems is a good way to enable this," said Jaime Schopflin.
"The bottom line is that whenever we work on a deep integration, people want to call it a 'Facebook Phone' because that's such an attractive soundbite, but building phones is just not what we do," he added.
The market analysts are still keeping the hopes for a 'Facebbok Phone' because the search engine giant Google Inc also denied the report of making its own phone in 2009, but launched the smartphone Nexus One in Jan 2010.
