Tata Motors to hike prices of Indica and Indigo

Tata Indigo
Mumbai, Sep 19: One of the leading vehicle manufacturer in India, Tata Motors, is planning to impose a hike in the price of its passenger cars, Indica and Indigo.

Sources close to company reported that plan to hike prices is to minimise the impact of rising input costs, particularly tyres. The price hike is expected to implement by Oct 2010.

Earlier in Sep 2010, Hyundai Motors also hiked the prices of its vehicles, Santro, Verna, i10, i20 and Sonata, by 1.2 percent. India's largest car-maker, Maruti Suzuki, also hiked the prices of all of its models, except the Alto, by up to Rs 7,500 in Aug 2010.
