Pakistan flag
Jammu, Sep 19: At the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire in the Poonch sector on Sep 18.

Using light arms to meduium guns, Pakistani troops targeted the Indian army during the heavy firing.

According to Poonch SSP, Manmohan Singh, the firing at the two posts at Kranti and Kripan in Jhalas area occurred around 8 pm on Sep 18.

Intermittent firing from the Pakistani side was still on nearly four hours after the launch of the strike, Singh's statement added.

However, Indian troops guarding the LoC took positions and fired back in heavy exchanges for over two hours.

Singh hinted that the firing could be an attempt to aid an infiltration bid by providing cover to militants waiting to sneak into India.
