Natascha Kampusch sent £20K to help kidnap victim Elisabeth Fritzl

London, Sep 16 (ANI): When kidnap victim Elisabeth Fritzl emerged from an Austrian cellar in 2008 after 24 years of abuse, Natascha Kampusch had a disturbing sense of history repeating itself - with her own story at its heart.

Two years earlier she had escaped her own kidnapping ordeal after more than eight years, during which she too was kept prisoner in a cellar in Austria.

She now feels a close bond with 44-year-old Elisabeth, who was imprisoned by her own father, Josef, and regularly raped by him - resulting in the birth of seven children as well as one miscarriage.

"I recognised Josef Fritzl as a monster. I wanted to reach out to Elisabeth and meet her but she is heavily protected. So I decided to give her some of the money that had been given to me by well-wishers," the Sun quoted Natascha as saying.

"I sent her 25,000 euros (20,900 pounds) and I hope it has helped her and her children in some small way. She is going to need a lot of help.

"It is outrageous that Fritzl now claims he loves his wife and his daughter. He is lying. Josef Fritzl only loves himself. What he has done is sick," Natascha added. (ANI)
