Sohrabuddin case: Witness shot himself

Jaipur, Sep 16: Azam Khan, key witness in the Sohrabuddin encounter case, who claimed to have been attacked on Tuesday, Sep 14 by “masked gunmen on motorcycles", police now believe he shot himself.

Senior police officials said Khan"s friend Iqbal, who was with him, told the police that Khan had fabricated the story about an attempt on his life. They were questioned and found that the incident did not corroborate.

Police had the first suspicion when none were present near the spot where the alleged shootout took place seemed to have seen the incident.
