Nifty closes on a positive note, IDFC, GAIL up

Mumbai, Sep 15: Sensex surged more than 1280 points and the Nifty rallied over 380 points in seven sessions on Sep 15.

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 19,502.11, up 155.15 points or 0.80 percent and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 65.40 points or 1.13 percent to settle at 5,860.95.

Shares of Reliance, Tata Motors, SBI, Infosys were among the most active.

IDFC, GAIL, Siemens, Sun Pharma were among the top gainers with 4.23 percent, 3.99 percent, 3.83 percent, 3.40 percent up respectively.

Tata Motors, SBI, BHEL, Jaiprakash Asso were among the top losers with 2.90 percent, 1.58 percent, 1.15 percent, 1.03 percent down respectively.

Sensex continues to go green

At 2:10 pm, the BSE Sensex continued to go green with more than 100 points up.

The BSE Sensex was trading at 19483, up 136 points and the Nifty was at 5853, up 58 points. Markets were rallied by BSE IT Index went up 1.7pc. TCS, Wipro, HCL Tech and Infosys were up 1.6-2pc. Even Oil & Gas added to market's gain.

About 1469 shares advanced while 1769 shares declined on BSE. Nearly 153 shares were unchanged.

Sensex surges 200 pts; tech, banks up

At 11:45 am, the benchmark Nifty surged to 5850 level as heavyweights supported from its opening.

The Sensex increased to 200 points. While the Nifty was at 5862, up 66 points.

Markets were further supported by private banking, technology, auto, realty and metal companies.

The most active exchanges were seen in SBI, Reliance Industries Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Infosys.

Nifty opens on positive note; heavyweights support

The benchmark Nifty continued trading above 5800 for the seventh consecutive day supported by heavyweights like Reliance Industries and ONGC.

At 9:01 am, the Sensex was trading at 19482, up 135 points and the Nifty was at 5839, up 43.45 points.

The CNX Midcap went up 46 points to 9186 and BSE Smallcap up 39 points to 10223.

Buying were seen in Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sterlite Industries, Maruti, HDFC, Axis Bank and Wipro
ICICI Bank and HUL were flat in trade.

Asian markets were mixed in trade with loss and gain.
