Detained filmaker Vijay Kumar leaves for India
In a case that “heightened suspicion after 9/11," in US, Mr Kumar had to undergo an ordeal in a Texas jail, added the lawyer.
While there was no doubt that Mr Kumar had violated a Texas law forbidding persons from carrying brass knuckles at airports. At the same time lawyer defended Kumar saying he was simply following federal law.
The irony in the "jihadi literature" was that he was carrying the material for lecture use to deliver to the Hindu Congress of America on interfaith discussion between Hindus and Muslims and the harms of terrorism.
The recent reports said, he was freed from charges and will reach his homeland within two days.
