Barack Obama authors children's book

New York, Sep 14: Following the likes of former presidents Jimmy Carter and Theodore Roosevelt, President Barack Obama has now authored a Children's book, titled 'Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters'.

The book, which is scheduled to hit the book stores on Nov 16, hails the achievements of thirteen Americans, including the first president, George Washington, baseball legend Jackie Robinson and artist Georgia O'Keeffe.

The publisher, Alfred A Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, refused to divulge any details on the other ten personalities.

The book, illustrated by Loren Long, features a sunny cover design with Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, walking thier dog, Bo.

The 40-page book will have list price of $17.99.

Obama has published two other books in the past, the memoir 'Dreams From My Father' and the policy book 'The Audacity of Hope'.

However, with his third book, Obama joins two other American presidents, who have published books for the non-voters.

While Theodore Roosevelt collaborated with Henry Cabot Lodge to write 'Hero Tales from American History' released in 1895, before he was president; Jimmy Carter published 'The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer' in 1995.
