Nokia chief Vanjoki quits from the company

London, Sep 13: Following the joining news of Microsoft's chief, Stephen Elop as the new CEO of Nokia, its present head, Anssi Vanjoki has resigned from the company.

Nokia officials informed on Monday, Sep 13 that Vanjoki, who joined Nokia in 1991, has a six-month notice period and will continue with his current tasks for the time being.

However, Vanjoki claimed, "I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life."

Among the several steps to compete with its main rival, Apple, Nokia has taken another approach by taking decision to hire Elop as its new CEO.
