Maoists destroy railway tracks in Jharkhand

Giridih (Jharkhand), Sep 13: Another attack by the Maoists occurred in the early hours as they blew up a stretch of railway track near Karmavad railway station in Giridih district, Jharkand on Monday, Sep 13.

The blast destroyed a metre-long track including wheels of a goods train, the Divisional Railway Manager said.

He said several trains have been stopped at various points following the damage to the track. Trains on the Delhi-Howrah route have been affected. This happened with the Maoists calling a 48 hour-bandh in 6 states.
