Stephen Hawking says he's often mistaken for a Simpsons character
London, Sep 11 (ANI): British scientist Stephen Hawking has joked that he is often mistaken for a Simpsons character.
The eminent physicist and cosmologist, who has appeared as himself several times in the popular American cartoon, said it was the most common misconception people had about his work.
Professor Hawking made the comments to The Guardian Newspaper's Weekend magazine in a debate with Brian Cox, the physicist and broadcaster, about science, reports the Telegraph.
In one episode of The Simpsons entitled 'They Saved Lisa's Brain', Hawking says to Homer, "Your theory of a doughnut shaped universe intrigues me. I may have to steal it." (ANI)
