Minor earthquake shakes North East, no casualty

Shillong, Sep 11: A moderate intensity earthquake shook parts of North-East on Saturday, Sep 11 and no casualty or damage to property has occurred.

An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter Scale was felt in Assam- Meghalaya region, Central Seismological Observatory said.

The epicentre was located in Meghalaya's Garo hills region near Assam border, Meteorological department sources said.

Meanwhile, another earthquake had shaken some parts of the region at 5:54 pm on Friday, Sep 10. The epicentre of the earthquake that measured 4.8 on the Richter Scale was located along the Indo- Bangladesh border in Tripura.
