Bihar: Constable rapes minor in police station

Patna, Sep 11: Tension arose in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Friday, Sep 10 after the reports of a police constable allegedly raping a minor enraged the locals.

On hearing that a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a constable at the Ahiapur police station, locals rushed to the station and clashed with the policemen forcing them to use tear gas to disperse the mob.

The incident took place two days ago, when girl lost her way while going to visit her grandmother's house.

Police sources have revealed that the family members of the victim filed an FIR after the girl narrated the incident to them.

Acting on the FIR, senior police officials held an identification parade at the police station where the girl identified the accused.

The medical report of the victim is awaited.
