Return gift on Eid, India to release Pak prisoners

New Delhi, Sep 10: Greeting Pakistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, India is set to thank Pakistan for releasing 442 of its fishermen with a return gift of releasing 31 Pakistani prisoners.

In a statement to the press, the Foreign Office on Thursday, Sep 9 announced that seven fishermen and the 24 other Pakistani nationals will return to Pakistan on Sep 15.

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna wrote a letter to his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, conveying the deep appreciation of the people and the government on the release of the 442 fishermen.

He also conveyed his greetings to Qureshi on the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan observed by rigorous fasting and prayers.
