Kerala: Meat seller chops off wife's arm

Kollam, Sep 9: Amid the nationwide outrage over the Kerala lecturer's arm being chopped off by radical Muslim activists, a similar brutal domestic violence incident has emerged in a remote village, where a meat seller chopped off his wife's left hand during a quarrel.

The fish and meat seller chopped off his wife's hand using a butcher's knife and flung it into the neighbour's compound.

The attacker, identified as Hashim, is now absconding, the police said.

The villagers, who recovered 31-year-old Nasia's severed arm, took the victim to the taluk hospital at Punalur town.

The woman's arm has been grafted. However, the doctors informed that they can not confirm the success of the operation yet.
