Jammu Kashmir: Encounter kills 1 LeT militant

Jammu, Sep 5: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant was killed and one jawan injured in a gun battle in Poonch border district on Sunday, Sep 5.

Rastriya Rifles (RR) troops and Police launched a search and cordon operation in Bhatti-Dar area of Mendhar tehsil after a secret information about LeT militants. Later the militants started firing on the troops and resulted in fierce gun fight between the militants and the troops.

The encounter killed one LeT militant but his body yet to be discovered. The injured jawan was hospitalized.

Police officials reported that troops also launched a cordon and search operation to track down a group of militants in Alal forest belt of Thanamandi teshil in Rajouri district.
