BrahMos cruise missile test-fired successfully
The missile was tested for the Army from the Integrated Test Range of Chandipur in Balasore, some 230 km from Bhubaneswar, director of the test range SP Dash said.
"The launch met all mission requirements. It was a 100 percent fantastic launch," he said.
India and Russia has jointly designing the BrahMos missile, which is capable of carrying conventional warheads upto 200-300 kg and have a range of 290 km.
The missile can fly at 2.8 times the speed of sound carrying conventional warheads up to 300 kg for a range of 290 km and can effectively engage ground targets from an altitude as low as 10 metres.
