Kerala map
Ernakulam, Sep 5: The sacked New Man College Malayalam lecturer, whose hand was chopped off by the radical Muslim group Popular Front of India (PFI), has told that he will take legal steps against college management for dismissing him.

On Saturday, Sep 4, Newman College management has removed TJ Joseph from service, effective from Sep 1 on the grounds of hurting religious sentiments of a community.

College Teachers' Association has come out in support of Joseph. They met him at his residence in Ernakulam on Sunday, Sep 5.

"Dismissing Joseph was like chopping off his other hand," said the spokesperson of the Teachers' association.

TJ Joseph was attacked by PFI activists on Jul 4 for preparing a Malayalam question paper with alleged derogatory references to Prophet Mohammed. So far 30 people have been arrested in connection with the attack.
