Zardari orders probe into discrimination against Hindus in relief camps
Sukkur, Sept 2 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has ordered a probe into the reports of discrimination in the flood relief camps. Media reports said flood victims were being treated on basis of ethnicity. Hindus and dalits were denied flood relief assistance and some of them were even thrown out of the relief camps.
The Daily Times quoted the president as saying,"Discrimination on ethnic grounds will not be tolerated." The President has also called for an immediate action against the guilty officials, if any.
The president's spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the president called for an inquiry following the media reports that a protest rally was held in Hyderabad on Monday to bring such discrimination against the minority community to notice. (ANI)
