Will the govt distribute food grain to poor?

New Delhi, Sep 2: Food grain was one of the significant topic that had been discussed for the past few days in Lok Sabha. On Thursday, Sep 2 the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) will hold a meeting to discuss ways of implementing food grain storage.

They will mainly focus on the suggestion of the food grain storage and the Supreme Court"s order of Aug 12, which had asked the Centre to supply food grain 'free' to the poor families instead of letting it rot.

“It was not a suggestion. It is there in our order. It is part of our order. You tell the Minister about it," a Bench of Justices Dalveer Bhandari and Deepak Verma told the government counsel Additional Solicitor General Mohan.
