Nokia shuts down Ovi Files service from Oct 2010

On Thursday, Sep 2, Nokia announced this through an e-mail to the users of the service. Nokia also asked the users to uninstall the Ovi Files Connector from their computers.
"Nokia is discontinuing the Ovi Files service, effective Oct 1, 2010," said Nokia in the e-mail.
Nokia built the Ovi Files service, which allows users to access files on their computers from any remote computer through Internet. Ovi Files was opened in beta in Jul 2008. A year later it changed from being a paid for service, to being an entirely free service. However the browser-based client had limited functionality and the service failed to gain much traction amongst users.
