Nokia to launch Symbian 3 run N8 in India by Sep

Mumbai, Sep 1: Nokia announced the launch of Nokia N8, world's first mobile phone to run on Symbian 3 operating system, in India by mid-Sep 2010.

The Nokia N8 has a 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a scratch resistant Gorilla glass display. It comes with multi touch input method and proximity sensor for auto turn off. The device boasts of a 12MP camera with auto focus and Xenon flash.

Nokia N8 is powered with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and 16GB internal memory. The memory can be expanded upto 32GB using microSD card. The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, EDGE, and USB ports.

The 3G ready Nokia N8 is loaded with ARM 11 680 MHz processor and a 3D Graphics HW accelerator. Nokia claimed that on 2G networks, N8 will give 390 hours of standby time and up to 12.5 hours of talk time. And in 3G network it gives 400 hours of standby time and 5.5 hours of talk time.

The new N8 is capable of HD video recording and the users can personalize the phone by creating their own widgets. It also supports feeds and updates from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The price of the N8 in Indian market is not yet announced.
