President Pratibha Patil to visit Leh on Sep 1

New Delhi, Aug 31: Indian President Pratibha Patil will visit the flood affected Leh and will meet the people on Wednesday, Sep 1.

On Aug 6, flash floods triggered by a cloud burst devastated large parts of Ladakh's biggest town Leh. At least 183 people were killed and 200 people are still missing.

"The president will be visiting Leh tomorrow. During her stay, the president will tour the affected areas and meet people at the relief camp," said a statement from President's office.

"The president will be distributing shawls and sweaters to the affected people in the camp," the statement added.

The officials also told that the President will address defence personnel in Leh.
