Modi slams Manmohan Singh over CWG mess

New Delhi, Aug 31: The Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Manmohan Singh over the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday, Aug 31.

Speaking at function to inaugurate a new building in the civil hospital complex in Ahmedabad, Modi said that the union government doesn't seem to be interested in development.

"They just seem to be interested in Commonwealth Games. And you have seen what embarrassment we have to undergo because of the mess in Commonwealth Games, now the PM himself has to carry out the mopping up of the venues, but nothing will happen," Modi said.

Venues to be used for the Games have missed a fourth deadline set by the government. They were meant to be completed by Aug 31. Instead, blaming the rain, Jaipal Reddy, who heads a Group of Ministers supervising the Games, said another two weeks of preps are required.
