Dismiss Raja: AIADMK shouts in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, Aug 31: AIADMK yet again brought up the issue of the alleged 2G spectrum scam in Rajya Sabha seeking to pressurise the Congress-led UPA government to dismiss Telecom Minister, A Raja.

“Dismiss Raja," AIADMK's V Maitreyan shouted in the Upper House showing copies of newspapers that carried the reports of the CAG comments on the 2G spectrum allocation and the role of DMK's A Raja.

AIADMK is the political rival of DMK in the state of Tamil Nadu, while for the UPA the Karunanidhi-led party is an important ally.

While Maitreyan insisted that he had given a notice for Zero Hour to raise the issue, Chairman Hamid Ansari maintained that his notice had not been allowed.

As the AIADMK leader refused to relent, Mr Ansari was left with no option but to briefly adjourn the house for 15 minutes.

“You cannot hold the House to ransom with this kind of agitation. This cannot be permitted... You are trampling on the right of other members," he told Mr Maitreyan.
