Market ends in green, Tata Steel, ABB gain

The Direct Tax Code (DTC) Bill was tabled in the Parliament on Monday, Aug 30. According to the new DTC Bill, first returns should be filed after 31 Mar, 2013. It will be effective from Apr 1, 2012.
At 4.15 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18032.11 up 33.70 points and NSE Nifty was 5415.45 up 6.75 points.
The top gainers were Power Grid Corp up 4.22 percent, Tata Steel up 3.48 percent, ABB up 2.47 percent and Bharati Airtel up 2.12 percent.
The top losers were HCL Tech down 2.49 percent, Siemens down 2.11 percent, Suzlon Energy down 2.10 percent and IDFC down 1.49 percent.

Nifty slips; HCL, TCS dip
At 2:40 hrs, BSE Sensex was 17971.77, down 26.64 points and NSE Nifty was 5395.10, down 13.60 points.
Selling pressure was seen in IT, FMCG and telecom stocks. Realty index, which had rallied more than 1.5 percent also turned in red.
Metal index also shed some gains.
Power Grid, Tata steel, ONGC, ABB and Bharti Airtel were up 1-4 percent. HCL Tech, Suzlon Energy, TCS, BHEL and Sun Pharma were down 1-2.5 percent.
Top gainers on the BSE Midcap were EIH, Pipavav, KGN Industries, Ballarpur Industries and United Breweries.
Top losers on the BSE midcap were Patni Computer, Hindustan Construction, MVL, Bajaj Hindusthan and FDC.

Nifty continues to be green
At 12:58 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18066.64, up 68.23 points and NSE Nifty was 5427.05, up 18.35 points.
Buying was seen in metal, realty, auto and oil and gas stocks. IT and telecom stocks were reeling under selling pressure.
Tata Steel, ONGC, Hindalco, ABB and Jindal Steel were up 1.7-3 percent. On the losing side, TCS, Infosys, Suzlon Energy, Siemens and HCL Tech were down 0.7-1.5 percent.
Top gainers on the BSE Midcap were EIH, Pipavav, Wockhardt, United Breweries and Mahindra Holidays.
Top losers on the BSE Midcap were Hindustan Construction, IBN18 Broadcast, Jubilant Food and Syndicate Bank.

Market opens in green; Tata Steel, JSPL up
The markets opened on a positive note on back of positive global cues. At 9:50 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18114.80, up 116.39 points and NSE Nifty was 5438.95, up 30.25 points.
Metal, realty, consumer durables, capital goods, auto and banking stocks led the recovery. All BSE sectoral indices were trading in green.
Tata Steel, JSPL, Sterlite Ind, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, JP Associates, Tata Motors, ONGC, DLF, GAIL, Axis Bank were gainers in the Nifty. Sun Pharma, HUL and NTPC were trading marginally lower.
